American silver oval centerpiece (piece de milieu) with Rococo genre motifs, both ends of the basin each with 2 female figures and the foot with sea creatures, sea and shell motifs. Marked NY 1880-90 Whiting Mfg. Co. Approximately 25 kilograms.

 

Note: "Whiting Mfg. Co" (Whiting Manufacturing Company) was a prestigious American silver manufacturer based in New York, active from 1866-1926. A 25-kilogram silver centerpiece from this maker would be an extremely substantial and valuable piece.

A beautiful beveled glass case with bronze fittings, handle, and hinged lid, the glass etched with floral motifs. The case contains a porte montre in gilt bronze, supported by two putti holding a medallion-shaped shield. Condition: Overall good, small chip on one corner of the glass lid. Sewing Box – Bronze, Marble, Mother-of-Pearl – Second Half of the 19th Century

Sewing set made of mother-of-pearl, bronze, and marble – France – Napoleon III – circa 1870.

 

A mother-of-pearl egg mounted on a bronze foot sits on a round marble base, used as a sewing set during the time of King Napoleon III. Two sewing tools are included: a silver thimble and a sewing bradawl. The egg opens and closes with a small hinge and is in perfect working condition.

A French ebonized wooden jardinière table with gilded railings and hand-painted panels all around.

The profiled top has three compartments and rests on four fluted, tapered legs connected by a shaped lower shelf. Beneath the three lids are three zinc containers, which can be used to hold soil and plants. The table is richly decorated all around with gilded railings, garlands, ornaments, and painted panels. It dates from the late 19th to early 20th century. Approx. 103 × 106 × 50 cm.

 

This is a Napoleon III ebonized and gilt-bronze mounted jardinière (planter stand), dating from the mid-to-late 19th century (approximately 1850s-1870s). Key characteristics of this piece:
